LG Energy Solution has been named an ‘Industry Mover’ in the latest Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) released by S&P Global, one of the world’s prestigious credit rating agencies. It has also been selected as a Sustainability Yearbook Member for 2025.
S&P Global’s comprehensive assessment evaluates a company’s economic and ESG performance over the previous year and publishes the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) annually. This year’s report analyzed a total of 7,690 companies from 62 industries.
LG Energy Solution was named an ‘Industry Mover’ in the Electrical Components & Equipment industry, a distinction awarded to companies that increase their CSA score by more than 5% compared to the previous year. Notably, LG Energy Solution was the only company in the electrical components & equipment industry to receive this prestigious recognition.
In 2023, LG Energy Solution was ranked in the top 6% (94th percentile) in the CSA. By 2024, the company had further improved, placing in the top 5% (95 percentile) of all electrical components and equipment companies. With a significant score increase, it outperformed its peers.
Within each industry, companies that achieve a CSA Score of at least 30 and rank within 15% of their industry’s top performing score can secure their Sustainability Yearbook Member status for 2025. With only 780 of 7,690 companies selected, this recognition holds significant weight.
These global achievements highlight LG Energy Solution’s world-class ESG management leadership. They also serve as key indicators for investors in capital markets, helping them assess a company’s sustainability performance and guide socially responsible investments.
This year, LG Energy Solution’s dedication to sustainability was acknowledged in several key areas, including climate strategy, supply chain management, product stewardship, human capital management, human rights and labor practices, environmental impact management, ethical business practices, and transparency and reporting. The company scored especially high in climate strategy, reflecting its ongoing carbon reduction efforts to fulfill 2050 carbon neutrality goal and performance based on a systematic climate risk assessment. The company’s relentless efforts to securing more transparent and responsible supply chains were also well recognized.
In addition, LG Energy Solution recently ranked 12th on Corporate Knights’ list of 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World 2025, the highest ranking among battery manufacturers. This achievement was driven by strong performances in sustainable revenue and sustainable investment KPIs, two key criteria for ESG-conscious investors. The company received the highest possible scores in both areas, reflecting its core business of providing sustainable and reliable energy solutions while investing in future growth engines. Corporate Knights, a leading sustainable-economy media and research organization, also highly rated LG Energy Solution’s energy productivity and GHG (Greenhouse gas) productivity, among other key criteria.
