LG Energy Solution – Privacy Policy

At LG Energy Solution(hereinafter referred to as “The Company”, “we”, or “us” interchangeably), your privacy is as important to us as your trust in our products and services(hereinafter referred to as “Services” interchangeably). Fully committed to protecting your information, our Privacy Policy clearly explains how we collect, use and share the personal data and information we obtain when you use the LG Energy Solution Newsroom website.

1. Information Collected

The following personal information is collected in connection with the website.

  • Information You Provide Directly.
    You can visit our website without providing your personal information. However, to receive our newsletter you are required to provide the following personal information: name, email address, media(publication name and URL)/other, and nationality.

6. Cross Border Transfer

Your use of our Services will involve the transfer, storage, and processing of your personal information within and outside of your country of residence, consistent with this Privacy Policy. In particular, your personal information will be transferred to the Republic of Korea.

7. How to Protect Your Personal Information

LG Energy Solution takes the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information.

  • Administrative Measures
    • An internal management plan for the safe management of personal information has been established and implemented.
    • Information security training is conducted for personal information handlers at least once a year.
    • LG Energy Solution tightly manages access rights for employees that handle key personal information like unique identification information and other sensitive information.
  • Technical Measures
    • Key personal information is encrypted and managed with access rights so that only those necessary for work can access it.
    • Unauthorized access is blocked and external intrusions such as hacking is being dealt with by the operation of a server access control system and prevention device for forgery and falsification of access records.
    • Unauthorized transmission of personal information to the outside is prevented by installation of security programs.
    • Personal information is transmitted safely with encryption of the personal information section of the transmission.
  • Physical Measures
    • Access to security areas like the server room and archive rooms are limited and controlled by the access control system.

8. Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

LG Energy Solution may use cookies, pixel tags, web beacons and other tracking technologies on its websites, applications, email messages and advertisements.

To measure site activity, provide a better user experience, and tailor our marketing communications, we or our service providers or business partners may compile personal information from the cookies, pixel tags, web beacons or other technologies on our websites.  This information may be combined with other information collected online or offline about you, including data provided by third party sources, and may be used or shared for the purposes described in this Privacy Statement.

You may choose to decline or delete some or all cookies generated on our websites. However, if you disable or limit the use of cookies, our website’s functionality may be limited.

9. Sensitive Data

We request that you do not use any sensitive data such as social security or national identification numbers and information related to racial or ethnic origin, politics, religious beliefs, health data, biometrics or genetic, criminal background or trade union membership. If you do send such information, then you are consenting to it being processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy. To avoid the processing of sensitive data, please do not submit it to our site.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our website is designed for a general audience and is not directed towards children. We do not knowingly or intend to collect any information from children under 13 or equivalent minimum age as prescribed in the laws in relevant jurisdiction.

11. Your Choices and Rights

We give everyone multiple ways to opt out of our marketing communications, such as providing an unsubscribe option on every marketing email we send out. LG Energy Solution will stop using your data for direct marketing purposes if you simply contact us using the information specified in the “How to Contact Us” section of this document.

Your personal information belongs to you. To the extent provided by applicable law, you may ask us to provide details about the personal information we have collected and request the deletion or correction of any piece of information. To the extent provided by the applicable laws, you can also ask us to restrict or limit the processing, sharing or transferring of your personal information, or to provide you with personal information that we have collected from you so that you can use it for your own purposes. However, we cannot delete any data that we are required to retain by law.

1) The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) & California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)

If you are a California resident, upon our receipt of a verifiable request from you, you may request certain information regarding our disclosure of certain categories of personal information to third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes. This request may be made no more than once per calendar year, and we reserve our right not to respond to requests submitted other than to the communication methods we have provided here. Note that we do not currently share personal information with third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes.

The right to know and to correct: You have the right to request to know (ii) the categories of personal information we have collected about you in the last 12 months; (ii) the specific pieces of personal information we have about you; (iii) the categories of sources from which that personal information was collected; (iv) the categories of your personal information that we sold or disclosed in the last 12 months; (v) the categories of third parties to whom your personal information was sold or disclosed in the last 12 months; and (vi) the purpose for collecting and selling your personal information. You also have the right to correct any such personal information you believe to be inaccurate.

The right to deletion: You have the right to request that we delete the personal information that we have collected or maintain about you. We may deny your request under certain circumstances, such as if we need to comply with our legal obligations or complete a transaction for which your personal information was collected. If we deny your request for deletion, we will let you know the reason why.

The right to opt out: You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information.

The right to equal service. If you choose to exercise any of these rights, we will not discriminate against you in any way. If you exercise certain rights, understand that you may be unable to use or access certain features of our websites or services.

Nevada law gives residents the right to opt out of the sale of their personal information. We are not considered a data broker under the Nevada law and we do not sell your personal information.


The right to access (Art.15 GDPR) – You have the right to request us for copies of your personal information.

The right to rectification (Art.16 GDPR) – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request us to complete information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure (Art.17 GDPR) – You have the right to request that we erase your personal information, under certain conditions.

The right to restriction of processing (Art.18 GDPR) – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal information, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability (Art.20 GDPR) – You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

The right to object (Art.21(1) GDPR) – In this case, the objection to data processing must be justified.

Consent: Where we process your personal data on the basis of you consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time without prejudice to the lawfulness of personal data processing before the withdrawal of consent.

Marketing: Where we process your personal data for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object at any time to this processing, which includes profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing. If you wish to object and opt-out of receiving our marketing communications, use the unsubscribe mechanism included in the marketing communication or contact us at Even if you opt out of marketing, you may still receive administrative or transactional communications from LGES.

12. Updates to Our Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated by LG Energy Solution at any time. If we make any changes to the policy, we will upload the new policy to our website and notify you promptly. You may also be required to agree to the revised Privacy Policy to continue using this website.

13. Third Party Websites

This Policy applies solely to information collected on this website. Although our website may contain links to other websites, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external sites.

14. How to Contact Us

The Company has designated a security department in charge of personal information protection as below, with overall responsibility for processing of personal information and to handle complaints and damage relief sought by data subjects in relation to personal information processing, etc. Users may make any inquiries about personal information protection, complaint handling or damage relief, etc. that may arise while using the Company’s services (or business) through the person in charge and the relevant department, and the Company will respond to and address users’ inquiries as required by law
