This funding, made through the Chamber’s “Trailblazing into the Future” campaign, will be used to transform the state-of-the-art HQ into a major regional hub for business and community.
Securing naming rights to the Innovation Center, this funding will be provided in three annual installments of USD 50,000. Through this matching-fund sponsorship, every community donation will be backed dollar-for-dollar, up to the full pledged amount, maximizing the impact of local investment while reinforcing shared priorities around innovation, workforce development, and regional economic growth.

Housed in the new HQ, the Innovation Center is a dynamic space built to inspire collaboration, learning, and business engagement. The Chamber describes it as a flexible hub where members, partners, and community stakeholders can freely exchange ideas, explore emerging opportunities, and foster innovation across industries. With theater-style seating for up to 100 people, the center serves both as a learning environment and a platform for talent development.
The LG Energy Solution–West Coast Chamber partnership will run for a minimum of five years, starting January 1, 2026. Throughout this five-year commitment, the Chamber will promote the LG Energy Solution brand across both digital and on-site platforms. This agreement also grants the company one room rental at the Innovation Center per quarter, supporting ongoing engagement with the local business and innovation community.

Dae-sik Choi, President of LG Energy Solution Michigan, emphasized the partnership’s strategic value and long-term significance for the region. “We are excited to partner with the West Coast Chamber on its new Innovation Center,” Choi said. “This facility aligns with our core value of educating the local workforce and our mission to transform Western Michigan into a hub of regional hub of innovation and technological development.”
Colin Seals, Director of External Affairs and Public Policy at LG Energy Solution North America, sees the West Coast Chamber as a key partner in Michigan. “We appreciate the continuous support from the Chamber and the City of Holland,” Seals said. “We look forward to working even more closely to strengthen the region’s economic foundation while cultivating a highly skilled local workforce.”
This support for the Innovation Center reflects LG Energy Solution’s long-standing engagement with the Western Michigan community and its confidence in the region’s future growth. The company has manufactured advanced battery cells for EVs and energy storage systems (ESS) in Michigan since beginning production in Holland in 2012.
The Holland site has consistently expanded its technological capabilities over the years, notably introducing LFP battery technology for energy storage applications. These solutions are critical for enhancing grid stability, supporting energy resilience, and enabling emerging technologies such as AI-driven data centers.
Since 2010, LG Energy Solution has made significant investments in the Holland facility, establishing its status as a major economic contributor and top-ten employer in Allegan and Ottawa counties–the site currently employs 1,000 people and plans to continue hiring this year.
Beyond Holland, the company is nearing the completion of its new battery cell manufacturing plant in Lansing, Michigan. Once fully operational, this site is expected to create up to 1,700 jobs.
