- LG Energy Solution showcases cutting-edge innovations at InterBattery 2025, highlighting its role as a global industry leader.
- Taking center stage at the exhibition, LG Energy Solution unveils pioneering solutions for a sustainable tomorrow.
From March 5 to 7, LG Energy Solution participated in InterBattery 2025 at the Convention and Exhibition Center (COEX) in Seoul, Korea. Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE) in partnership with the Korea Battery Industry Association (KBIA), the event attracted over 688 exhibitors across the rechargeable battery manufacturing, material, equipment, and component sectors. Over 77,000 attendees gathered at the exhibition hall, highlighting the growing importance of battery technology in the future of mobility and sustainable energy solutions.
In line with the main theme, ‘Empower Every Possibility, Imagine Better Tomorrow,’ LG Energy Solution showcased its cutting-edge battery technologies for both EV and non-EV applications. With the largest booth in the venue, spanning 540㎡ (5,812.5ft²) the company reaffirmed its position as a global industry leader.
During the three-day event, LG Energy Solution outlined its goal to expand beyond hardware into software and services, while continuing to develop its business structure to build a sustainable energy ecosystem. This strategy aims to establish LG Energy Solution as a ‘Total Solution Provider,’ leading the market with an innovative and integrated approach.
This year, LG Energy Solution unveiled the 46-series cylindrical batteries (4680, 4695, and 46120), an impressive lineup of next-generation batteries. With a minimum of five times the energy and output compared to the existing 2170 batteries, these latest batteries are expected to be a game changer in the cylindrical battery market.
The company’s booth also displayed a solar-powered three-wheeler from EV startup Aptera Motors. LG Energy Solution announced its supply plans to equip Aptera Motors’ vehicles with its batteries during CES 2025, the world’s largest consumer electronics and information technology exhibition.
LG Energy Solution’s event space at InterBattery featured five zones: Hero Battery Solution, EV Battery Solution, Non-EV Battery Solution, Future Technology, and Sustainability.
The Hero Battery Solution zone presented the new 46-series cylindrical batteries, which deliver five times more energy capacity than traditional batteries for fast charging and high spatial efficiency. Cell Array Structure (CAS) – a battery module and pack solution that maximizes battery safety by applying proprietary heat diffusion prevention technology – was also on display, showcasing LG Energy Solution’s innovative battery pack design.
In the EV Battery Solution zone, LG Energy Solution highlighted its Battery Management Total Solution (BMTS), an advanced solution that optimizes performance by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud technologies into the existing Battery Management System (BMS). Officially launched for commercialization in August of last year through the company’s new BMTS brand, B.around, the technology includes enhanced software for safety diagnostics, degradation, and lifespan prediction.
The exhibition also showcased the LFP based CTP (Cell-to-Pack) solution, which enhances safety while improving cost competitiveness, as well as high-voltage mid-nickel (HV Mid-Ni) pouch cells, which reduce nickel content and increase energy density through higher voltage.
Moving to the Non-EV Battery Solution, Future Technology, and Sustainability zones, LG Energy Solution presented various products and advanced technologies, including Energy Storage System (ESS) batteries such as robots equipped with small battery cells. The exhibits introduced innovations expected to revolutionize the LFP battery market, including the dry electrode process, bipolar batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and small pouch cells incorporating 100% recycled cathodes.
In recognition for its technological prowess, LG Energy Solution won two ‘InterBattery 2025’ awards for its 46-series cylindrical battery cells and CAS solution, as well as its B-Lifecare technology.
This highlights LG Energy Solution’s continued technology leadership in the industry, as it marks the second consecutive year of distinction for the company at the InterBattery Awards. At the inaugural ‘InterBattery 2024 Awards,’ LG Energy Solution won the highest honor, the Best Innovator Award for its mid-nickel Pure NCM technology and the Best Automation Solution Innovation Award for its ‘anode laser etching technology.’
This year, LG Energy Solution demonstrated its capabilities not only in cylindrical battery technology but also in battery management services, solidifying its position as a pioneer in battery performance, safety, and battery management solutions. LG Energy Solution will continue to maximize customer value and shape the future of the market through its competitive and innovative product portfolio.
“We are thrilled to share LG Energy Solution’s advanced technologies and products at InterBattery 2025 this year,” said a representative from LG Energy Solution. “We are committed to driving innovation with next-generation solutions as a global leader of the battery industry.”
