“As a global leader in electromobility, we know that our future is built on the skills of our employees,” said Yong Girl Lee, Director of the External Relations Department at LG Energy Solution Wroclaw. “Our internship program not only gives students practical experience, but also helps us identify and nurture promising talent early, making recruitment more focused and effective. We offer students the chance to learn a wide array of professional skills across all business areas, and get fairly rewarded for their contributions.”

The paid internship offers dedicated mentorship, with experienced employees eager to share their wisdom and guide them through every task, helping them grow throughout the program. With clear goals and responsibilities set from the start, interns can focus on developing the practical skills they’ll need for their future careers, especially if they’re pursuing a career in the battery industry. The possibility of a job offer at the end adds even more value to the program.

“With the nature of work changing dramatically over the last decade, today’s students and graduates expect internships to deliver not only professional growth but also fair compensation for their work,” said Lee. “We provide paid internships alongside additional benefits, including access to certified training programs, including soft skills, Agile, Scrum, advanced battery production process training, Lean management, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) control engineering, ISO9001, and 5S[1].”

The internship begins with an onboarding session attended by all new interns, introducing the company’s mission, history, and organizational culture. This is followed by an in-depth overview of the battery manufacturing process – the essential foundation for all future learning at LG Energy Solution.

“The onboarding process covers several key operational areas,” said Piotr Blachura, Director of the HR Department at LG Energy Solution Wroclaw. “We’ve structured it into four core stages, known as 4C: Compliance – providing information on company procedures; Clarification – reviewing and setting internship objectives and tasks; Culture – the company’s organizational culture; and Connection – integrating students with the rest of the team through introductory workshops.”

Every #ChargeTheFuture intern also takes part in a guided tour of the entire EV battery production process at the plant near Wroclaw, followed by position-specific training where they can meet their supervisor and learn more about their position in the company.

The goal of this internship is to give participants a comprehensive understanding of the company’s operations, including insights into the day-to-day workings of one of Europe’s leading battery plants. The program concludes with the engaging “Energy of the Future” competition, with various prizes to be won.

“Internships are a crucial part of a student’s professional development, and for top performers, they can lead to a full-time job as a technician, specialist, or engineer,” said Blachura. “While the internship doesn’t guarantee employment, it serves as a probationary period to assess a candidate’s attitude, performance, and potential.”

Many interns become unofficial brand ambassadors, promoting the company at their universities as an exceptional place to learn and grow. Additionally, the students bring a fresh perspective to the business, sharing new ideas and knowledge of emerging tech trends. Their contributions often inspire innovative solutions and drive operational improvements.

“This program gives us a deeper understanding of students’ needs, insights that we use to tailor our approach and help them reach their full potential,” said Blachura. “Many of our graduates describe the internship as an essential steppingstone in their professional journey, with some joining us as full-time employees and flourishing in their roles.”

Its goal is to foster a clean, orderly, and safe work environment that boosts efficiency, reduces errors, and enhances employee engagement.
