• LG Energy Solution Wroclaw marks International Women’s Day, recognizing the contributions of female employees.

International Women’s Day (March 8) recognizes and celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. To mark the occasion, Gazeta Wyborcza, one of the most influential journals in Poland, interviewed a LG Energy Solution Wroclaw’s female IT professional, highlighting the company’s commitment to fostering a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Lucja Calus, a data analyst, spoke about what it’s like to be working in a male-dominated IT industry.  In Poland, women make up just 20% of the nation’s IT professionals. Lucja also provided her insights into her personal background and important role within LG Energy Solution Wroclaw’s DX team as well as her perspectives on how the industry is changing.

With a degree in computer science and econometrics from University of Economics in Katowice, Lucja seamlessly transitioned into a role in production IT, an area where her expertise in data analysis can truly shine. Blending theoretical knowledge with practical skills, she adeptly juggles her numerous IT responsibilities, such as development of solutions for the production line. Her journey exemplifies a harmonious fusion of theory and practice, enabling Lucja to navigate the intricate landscape of IT and business with grace and proficiency.

Currently, she works closely with engineers on the production line at LG Energy Solution Wroclaw to develop solutions that enhance the efficiency of machinery and the people who manage it. However, Lucja believes that to match appropriate IT solutions, she must first understand how the machines operate: “As your understanding of the machinery deepens, so does your ability to identify the precise IT solutions required.”

She also opened up about her personal experiences as a female IT professional in Poland: “The presence of women in the IT field is increasing, but progress is still slow,” she noted. “However, one time, during my studies at the University, there was a time when the gender ratio was equal, and that made me happy.” She further expressed her desire for more females to enter the IT sector: “I’m happy to report that my team has three female colleagues, and I hope to see more women joining in the future.”
