During the influential conference, Yong Girl Lee, Director of External Relations at LG Energy Solution Wroclaw, shared his insightful perspective on the future of mobility and sustainability. With a career spanning international diplomacy and corporate leadership—including positions at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Poland and LG Chem, Korea’s leading chemical manufacturer—Lee brings deep insight into both public and private sector dynamics. In his current position at LG Energy Solution Wroclaw, Europe’s largest EV battery manufacturing facility, he leads efforts to strengthen international relations and support the global energy transition.

During the panel discussion, Lee joined fellow experts to address the question on everyone’s mind: “What will transportation look like in 2035?” They discussed shifting landscape of Europe’s automotive industry, touching on challenges such as electrification, growing competition from China, and the importance of sustainable supply chains. The panel also examined the impact of emerging regulations, taxes, and investment needs, focusing on how these factors will shape the Polish automotive sector—a key player in the European manufacturing ecosystem.

“When we think about 2035, we understand that big change lies ahead. But from our perspective, the transformation must begin today. To ensure the competitiveness of the European automotive industry, we must focus on new technologies and smart, forward-thinking regulations,” said Lee. “When you look at the roads in China, which are now full of EVs, it’s clear how rapidly the market is evolving—and how fast the gap between China and the West is growing. We cannot afford to wait any longer. The revolution has already happened in China, and we must act immediately to keep pace.”
