To raise cultural awareness and celebrate the beautiful identities that exist among its diverse population, Michigan holds several exciting and engaging festivals a year. This includes a celebration of the Grand Rapids Hispanic Festival in August which empowers the Hispanic community to achieve equity, self-sufficiency, and personalized prosperity, as well as Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) with the Grand Rapids Asian-Pacific Festival in June.

LG Energy Solution Michigan participated in both events – as a Los Compadres Sponsor and as a Bronze Sponsor – enabling it to engage with the local community and cherish a time to respect the importance of racial diversity across the world.

LG Energy Solution believed that by sponsoring this year’s Grand Rapids Hispanic Festival, the Hispanic Center of Western Michigan’s premier annual celebration of its rich heritage, it would effectively demonstrate its dedication to promoting diversity, while underscoring the significance of consistently acknowledging and valuing different cultures.

This was a great opportunity for its employees to serve as Brand Ambassadors and spread the word about LG Energy Solution. The friendly volunteers handed out swag during the festival including frisbees, canteens, and various other goods to honor the vibrant heritage, culture, and traditions of the West Michigan Hispanic Community. They also challenged festival-goers to a game of sandbag toss, as a way of celebrating Hispanic history and culture as one. Members of Talent Acquisition team, along with employee volunteers, worked a table at the event. Participants played games to win prizes with the LG Energy Solution Michigan logo.

Just a few months earlier, LG Energy Solution Michigan participated in an equally vibrant event commemorating another heritage found among its borders. Grand Rapids Asian Pacific Festival, Michigan’s largest annual Asian-Pacific celebration, was in fine form with a fantastic lineup of local and international talent. The audience who attended over the three days could witness amazing performances by musicians, dancers, and other performers. LG Energy Solution took this time to learn about the diverse cultures of the people living close by and enjoy their unique performances and joyful, kind and generous nature.
