- Joanna Moore shares her journey of creating a workplace where employees feel supported, respected, and inspired to grow.
- Building an inclusive work culture with people-centered HR leadership
To mark International Women’s Day (IWD), LG Energy Solution is taking a moment to spotlight women who contribute to shaping inclusive cultures throughout its global operations. Among those leaders is Joanna Moore, Human Resources (HR) Management Team Leader at LG Energy Solution Wroclaw, whose work supports stronger teams, talent development, and an engaging, welcoming workplace.
Moore brings nearly 20 years of HR experience across multiple countries, industries, and work environments. Early in her career, she ran her own business while supporting other companies as an HR Coordinator. By her early thirties, she took on broader recruitment and training responsibilities at another organization, an experience that deepened her interest in employee growth.
“Throughout all these experiences, one thing has always been clear – I truly enjoy working in HR,” Moore said. Work that centers on people – helping them grow while strengthening the organization behind them – has always been her focus.

After establishing her career in the U.S., Moore felt drawn to working across cultures in an international environment. The move to LG Energy Solution Wroclaw felt like a natural next step, combining her HR expertise with cross-cultural experience and continuous learning.
Moore’s role has evolved as LG Energy Solution Wroclaw has grown. For her first three years, she focused on development work such as training and employee growth. After becoming the HR Management Team Leader two years ago, she took on a wider scope that includes payroll, HR administration, recruitment, HR business partnering, and employee relations.
“My responsibility extends to helping create an environment where people feel supported, respected, and motivated to grow,” she said. As a woman in a leadership position, Moore believes her role goes beyond managing processes and results, emphasizing empathy, consistency, and leading by example.
Moore’s most fulfilling career moments have always been people-centered – watching employees gain confidence, develop professionally, or overcome challenges with her support.
One especially meaningful achievement at LG Energy Solution Wroclaw was building the Human Resources Development (HRD) team from the ground up, and seeing it grow reinforced her belief in collaboration, trust, and shared purpose.
Moore feels that creating opportunities such as these and lifting others up is what strong women’s leadership looks like in practice. “Female empowerment means being confident in your decisions while staying sensitive to the needs of others. It is about having the courage to speak up, take responsibility, and lead without losing authenticity,” she explains. This perspective has shaped how she guides her team and builds a culture rooted in open communication, trust, and mutual support.
In alignment with its DEI Policy, LG Energy Solution embeds diversity, equity and inclusion into its culture – where all individuals’ diverse backgrounds, ideas and points of view are fully respected; all individuals are given equitable access, opportunity, resources, and power to thrive; all individuals feel included, connected and valued. As LG Energy Solution continues to strengthen inclusion and support diverse talent, integrating DEI principles into existing HR processes remains an ongoing priority as the organization becomes increasingly multicultural.
Getting to Know Joanna Moore
Learn more about her role and approach to leadership in the Q&A below.
1. As an HR leader, what does a typical day at LG Energy Solution Wroclaw look like for you?
A typical day starts shortly after 8:00 a.m., with email checks and approvals to identify urgent matters. This is followed by short alignment meetings with part leaders and updates with department leadership. The rest of the day is usually a combination of solving HR-related cases, supporting managers, and meeting with team members to discuss ongoing topics and challenges. No two days are exactly the same, which is something I truly enjoy about working in HR.
2. Have you had any female role models or mentors who influenced your career? How did they inspire you?
My greatest mentor has always been my mother. She is a strong, determined woman – a doctor, former hospital director, medical judge, and lecturer at a medical university. Even at 77, she remains professionally active and fully committed to her work.
She has always been tough, but also incredibly empathetic. As a mother of two, she balanced family life with a very demanding career, holding herself to high standards while teaching me to understand my own value and find happiness in what I do.
She was often the only woman in a room full of men, yet she always made herself heard – not by being the loudest, but by being prepared, competent, and confident. Watching her shaped my understanding of leadership and showed me that strength and empathy can go hand in hand.
3. How do DEI initiatives contribute to organizational success at LG Energy Solution?
In a fast-growing and highly competitive industry, diverse perspectives strengthen decision-making, encourage innovation, and improve problem-solving. When people feel included and respected, engagement and performance naturally increase, which ultimately supports sustainable growth.
4. What strategies do you use to ensure that DEI initiatives are effectively integrated into the company’s HR policies and practices?
We focus on embedding DEI practices across the entire employee lifecycle, starting with recruitment and talent management processes that are structured and bias-aware, including transparent selection criteria and competency-based assessments.
We also align performance management and promotions with clear and objective standards to ensure equal access to development and career progression opportunities. In addition, our HRD Team invests in leadership awareness and training, as managers play a critical role in shaping inclusive team cultures.
By consistently reviewing HR policies and key metrics, we aim to ensure that DEI becomes part of our everyday operations – not just something we talk about.
5. What impact do you think International Women’s Day has on the perception of women in leadership roles in Poland?
International Women’s Day plays an important role in Poland – not only as a celebration, but also a moment to reflect on progress and future commitments. In recent years, more women have taken on leadership roles across industries, helping to challenge traditional stereotypes and normalize diverse leadership styles.
It encourages meaningful conversations about inclusion, equal opportunities, and the continued development of female talent, reminding us that lasting progress requires conscious effort, a supportive organizational culture, and strong role models.
