LG Energy Solution Launches New ESS Products at ees Europe 2022 in Munich

  • Premium home battery system RESU FLEX takes the company’s innovative modular concept a step further
  • The New Containerized ESS Solution is a comprehensive, cutting-edge, grid-scale system that arrives in a prebuilt state

Munich, Germany, May 11, 2022 — LG Energy Solution, a global manufacturer of advanced lithium-ion batteries, announced Wednesday that it had launched two new ESS products at Europe’s largest and most diverse international exhibition and conference for batteries and energy storage systems. The fair, ees Europe, runs May 11-13 at Messe München in Munich and showcases top-notch electrical energy storage systems from all over the world. LG Energy Solution’s theme for the event is “the next level of flexibility,” which fits perfectly with its innovative line-up of battery products, including the RESU FLEX for households and the New Containerized ESS Solution, an all-in-one grid-scale ESS system.

The RESU FLEX is a highly flexible home battery that can be arranged in up to 36 system configurations in diverse range of capacity, giving customers greater freedom. Ideal for homeowners, its convenient modular concept renders it infinitely expandable — users can freely add or remove battery modules, depending on their households’ energy consumption patterns. The luxurious design of the product, available either as a wall-mounted unit or one that stands on the floor, harmonizes with the interior of a home. The RESU FLEX also offers enhanced safety features, including a smartphone app that allows users to check battery status in real time.

The New Containerized ESS Solution comes fully assembled all in one container. More than a simple battery rack system, it also serves as a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system complete with electrical components and a fire extinguisher. By shipping the product in its prebuilt state, LG Energy Solution has simplified the installation process, significantly cutting procurement and deployment costs. The company’s booth also features other high-performance grid-scale ESS products including the High Voltage Rack (1,400V) and the Transportable Rack 1300, a prebuilt rack system that is optimized for indoor conditions.

Meanwhile, at the company’s exhibition booth — No. 410 in Hall B1 — visitors can learn about one of the company’s pilot projects: the Reuse ESS charging station, an environmental, social and corporate governance initiative that deploys end-of-use electric vehicle batteries at an EV charging station.

At the booth, LG Energy Solution’s prototypes are vying for the spotlight against those of other global leaders in advanced battery and energy storage technology. This year’s highlight is an LFP battery prototype — a stellar addition to the company’s already strong portfolio, which previously boasted NCM batteries.

“On the basis of our capabilities in system integration and our track record of creating innovative new products, LG Energy Solution will provide our customers with excellent products and solutions,” said Seungse Chang, Senior Vice President of LG Energy Solution’s ESS Battery division.
