- LG Energy Solution showcased a battery portfolio for AI data centers at Data Centre World Asia 2026, spanning server-level BBUs, facility-level UPS batteries and grid-scale BESS.
- Through the One LG AI Factory, LG Energy Solution, LG Electronics and LG CNS are combining power, cooling, construction and operational capabilities to address next-generation AI infrastructure needs.
From September 29-30, LG Energy Solution showcased its battery-based power solutions for AI data centers (AIDCs) at Data Centre World Asia 2026 (DCWA 2026), held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Together with LG Electronics and LG CNS, the company presented the One LG AI Factory, an integrated approach that combines power, cooling, construction, and operational capabilities for next-generation AIDCs.
Under the theme “End-to-End AI Factory Infrastructure Partner,” the joint booth addressed infrastructure requirements across the AIDC lifecycle. Within this ecosystem, LG Energy Solution showcased battery solutions for key power infrastructure needs, including Battery Backup Units (BBUs), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) batteries, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Growing AI Workloads Increase Demand for Data Center Power Infrastructure
As AIDCs become larger and computing workloads become more intensive, reliable power infrastructure is increasingly important. Higher compute density requires systems that can support continuous operation and protect servers and critical equipment from even brief interruptions.
Battery-based solutions help meet these needs by providing immediate backup power at the server-rack level and supporting energy management across the facility and grid.
Battery Solutions for Different Power Needs: From Server Racks to the Grid
At the server level, LG Energy Solution showcased its 2170 cylindrical battery for BBUs. Installed directly on server racks, BBUs can provide immediate Direct Current (DC) power to GPU servers during unexpected power interruptions and help maintain stability. Customer examples and video content illustrated how these capabilities can support power stability and operational efficiency in AIDCs.

For facility-level backup power, LG Energy Solution exhibited the JP5 designed to provide high energy density within a compact footprint. The system delivers 1MW-class power in a 1m² footprint, helping address space constraints for backup power infrastructure.
The JP5 also incorporates a Self-Powered Switched-Mode Power Supply (SMPS), allowing its Battery Management System (BMS) and Battery Protection Unit (BPU) to operate independently without an external power source. Together with UL9540A certification, these features are designed to support the safety and reliability of backup power systems in data center environments.
At the grid level, the company presented the JF2 DC Link, an LFP-based, long-cell BESS designed to provide large-scale energy storage for power infrastructure supporting AIDCs. The system offers 5.0MWh-class energy capacity in a single 22.1-foot [1]container, with liquid-cooling thermal management and UL9540A safety certification.
The JF2 DC Link also features LG Energy Solution’s proprietary State-of-Charge (SOC) Calibration Free technology. By maintaining SOC accuracy without separate calibration, the technology supports more efficient management of large-scale energy storage systems.

In addition, LG Energy Solution promoted its JF2 AC Link through a dedicated pop-up banner. The product, targeted primarily at North American utility customers, was highlighted as meeting NVIDIA DSX Ready requirements.
Connecting Power, Cooling, and Construction Through the One LG AI Factory
LG Energy Solution’s presence at DCWA 2026 extended beyond individual battery products. The joint booth also demonstrated the One LG AI Factory concept, which brings together LG Energy Solution’s battery and power infrastructure technologies, LG Electronics’ cooling solutions, and LG CNS’s expertise in AIDC construction and operations.
Visitors explored how gigawatt-scale AIDCs are constructed and operated through interactive dioramas, video content, and prefabricated modular AI Factory solutions that can shorten construction timelines.
Meeting AI Power Demands
As AI power demands continue to increase, AI infrastructure requires solutions across multiple layers, from server-level backup to facility-level power continuity and grid-scale energy management. The One LG AI Factory offers an integrated approach to meet power, cooling, construction and operations needs as AIDCs become larger and more complex. LG Energy Solution is committed to meeting these requirements through BBUs, UPS batteries and BESS, providing solutions across different levels of AIDC power infrastructure.
